Clothed in Blazing Light

Revelation 18:1-3
"After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, 'Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.'”

Dear God,

The earth is a dark and sinful place.  You are blazing light.  John describes Your angelic messenger coming from Your Presence and illuminated with Your glory!

William Barclay wrote, "Those who come from the Presence of God bring with them the light of God" (In The Revelation of John, vol. 2, 1959, p. 196).

I want to be a messenger of Your light today. I want to be illuminated with Your glory in the darkness of my world. Francis Bacon (1561-1628) said, "In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present."  Fill me with Your fullness that I might shine for You!

In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
